Job Description

Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT) respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured utilizing both BLS and ALS skill levels, and to transport the patient to a medical facility. After receiving the call, the AEMT drives the ambulance to address or location given, using the most expeditious route, depending on traffic and weather conditions. The AEMT must observe traffic ordinances and regulations concerning emergency vehicle operation.

Job Duties

1. The AEMT functions in uncommon situations; 2. The AEMT has an advanced understanding of stress response and methods to ensure personal well-being; 3. The AEMT understands body substance isolation; 4. The AEMT understands advanced medical-legal principles; 5. The AEMT functions within the scope of care as defined by state, regional and local regulatory agencies; 6. The AEMT complies with regulations on the handling of the deceased, notifies authorities and arranges for protection of property and evidence at the scene. 7. Upon arrival at the scene of crash or illness, the AEMT parks the ambulance in a safe location to avoid additional injury. 8. Prior to initiating patient care, the AEMT will also provide advanced assessment and both BLS and ALS level therapies and treatments.

Job Requirements

Valid NH Diver's license, NREMT certification as an AEMT, ability to obtain a NH Provider's license, Valid Professional Rescuer CPR certification, Pass background check, Pass MV record check
